  1. HEY! I wrote it myself you A-Holes! If the grammer and style was inspired by anything I'd say it's a small character from Star Trek Voyager. Dr Chaotica, who appears in a few episodes as the arch nemesis in Tom Paris' holodeck program "Captain Proton". He is sort of a parody character from 50's sci-fi villains.

  2. It does look a lot like Silent Hill with a hint of Resident Evil and a splash of Outlast. That being said, the character movement looks kind of weird - like he has diarrhea and is about crap all over himself kind of walk lol.

  3. Do you like to keep a journal or diary discussing all the games you like to play? Along with your feelings on them and your views? I have never done this myself, but I bet there are people who actually do. Would you keep a journal of all the games you beat, and their reviews, ratings and other such things too?

  4. Hey, everyone! I have some big announcements to make today. First of all, we just hit another impressive milestone—15,000 members! I want to give a shout out to all of you who have become a part of the VGR family, especially our frequent contributors. Together, you have made this one of the friendliest and most engaging forums around. Next, I want to welcome @The Blackangel as our second moderator (and thanks again, @Techno, for recommending we get one)! The Blackangel has been with us for more than three years now. During all of that time, I can’t even remember a week where she wasn’t active and involved. We can always count on The Blackangel for detailed, insightful replies to members’ threads—plus she is one of our classic gaming experts. Moreover, her passion for this forum shines through in everything she does, and I know she is going to bring that enthusiasm to her work as a moderator every day. Congratulations, The Blackangel! The Blackangel joins @Shagger, who became our first moderator in August 2020. Like The Blackangel, Shagger has specialized in engaging, in-depth discussion. Since becoming a moderator, he has done an incredible job keeping topics organized, quickly defusing potential conflicts, and keeping everything running smoothly for our community. Thank you so much for all of your ongoing hard work, Shagger! I just know you and The Blackangel are going to do amazing things together. Both our 15,000 member milestone and our second moderator are signs of how much VGR forum has grown over the course of 2021. Thank you all again for the role you have played in making this community the welcoming haven for gamers that it is, and for all you will do to make VGR continue to grow and flourish as we head into 2022.

  5. I have no problem with a cinematic experience in games, in fact I prefer to have long and deep cutscenes. What you describe however is when the game randomly takes control out of the player's hands for a minute then suddenly releases it. I hate when they do that too. The line between gameplay and cinematic should be clear and defined. The worst offenders are games where the cinematic starts to play and during these I usually relax and release the controls, then BAM suddenly a QTE is on the screen.

  7. The older versions of Resident Evil is always better than the new ones. Capcom have simply lost their touch in what they really wanted to do.

  10. I actually expected that line of decision between Forza Horizon 5 and Gran Turismo 5 because I would have still picked the latter.

  11. I also love racing games, but I don't it find it too difficult to play it. I have played games like need for Speed series, dirt series, Forza series etc. Different games have different difficulty levels, but I enjoyed most of my playing.

  14. In 2017, they were going to release the bulk of the DLC in March. Not a Hero and End of Zoe. For some reason, they messed up what they were working on, and ended up delaying most of it until December that year. So I reckon the RE8 stuff will probably be available by Easter, at the latest. I'm just guessing here, going off of the 9 months we waited some 4 years ago. Seems odd to release DLC for a game that released back in May, almost a year later... I wish RE8 was more of a true sequel to 7, in that it continued the story with the Connections, and why Lucas Baker was going to betray them. But I guess it was a continuation, for Ethan. But everything with Chris just feels like it's there so it's still able to be called RE. Because, really. Chris being in the games now, is just something tacked on so that any long term fans will still enjoy seeing primary heroes as side characters, even if the plot is like dog muck. But honestly, if he didn't show up, I don't believe that people would really purchase RE games for some faceless main character like this Ethan Winters. Plus, we all miss Roger Craig Smith as Chris. I don't like the fact they hired the guy who did Carlos in RE3 to voice Chris, as he sounds absolutely nothing like how Chris was speaking before.

  15. Yeah, it's how I have been dealing with it over the past few years and it's been really helpful for me.

  16. Seriously, I would never miss the game award for anything unless my wife is giving birth at that very moment.

  18. Congratulations @The Blackangel. Under your moderation VGR will soon become a beacon of order. All denizens will be at the mercy of your will. Where all those who acquiesced to you will be permitted to survive and flourish and all those who resist will face dire and unspeakable fates!... ...Well, what I mean is congrats and I'm sure you'll do fine.

  19. Yeah, I have already done the math and know for sure that if the forum keeps up at this pace, it wouldn't pass Fall 2022 to hit the mark of 20k members.

  20. My experience so far has been good. Maybe I am not pushing windows too bad and limited use apart from office and the games is less so not much bad experience.

  21. Perfect choice, @DC! Congrats, @The Blackangel, you are going to be marvelous. And thanks again @Shagger for everything you do. All three of you are awesome, and have made this the place I feel most welcome and at home online 🙂

  22. Thanks everyone. I just hope I don't make any major screw ups and do something that's not supposed to be within my scope of privileges as a mod. With the amazing job @Shagger has done over the last year and a half, I know I can go to him anytime I need. Obviously I can also go to @DC too. They have been one hell of a team together, and I'm honored to be able to help them with their duties. But like I said, I just hope I don't make any major screw ups. Fingers crossed. 🤞

  23. I can't say that I'm really surprised by this announcement because it's something that should have been done a long time. Having only @Shaggerdoing it all alone can be too demanding. So adding @The Blackangelto the team is a very good plan. Well done @DC, congratulations to you @The Blackangel and then happy growth for the community.

  24. I think Fall 2022 is a good timeframe for 20,000 members. I also think by then the forum will have over 200,000 posts, based on how we are currently growing. Very exciting!
