    Best Kirby Game

Which is your favorite Kirby game ? Mine is Kirby N64 Crystal Shards, this is the only kirby game that was actually different from the others since you could combine powers and create different variants like thunder and boomerang got you a light saber or fire and spike got you a fire bow and arrow.

  3. None of this PC bullshit. People could say what's on their minds, and everyone was fine with it whether they agreed or not. Now if you say "Boo" at someone you're looking at trouble for threatening someone. Like WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK???? Are you that much of a pussy that you can't handle someone speaking? And don't get me started on the whole "Speak English" bullshit that keeps going on. I'm in the process of learning a few languages just to piss these people off. Among other reasons.

  4. I do remember, and below is the only one that's survived house moves, poor treatment and frequent consultation. This is my 'Cheats Bible,' a battered, dog-eared tome from Games Master magazine that's been with me for donkey's years. Why I decided to graffiti Sonic, Knuckles & Tails' first initial on their heads like Doctor Neo Cortex, or give the Prince of Persia antennae I don't know. The pages have gone yellow with age and being kept in all manner of environments: plastic boxes, dark shelves, a floor littered with crumbs and goodness knows what else. And of course, who could forget the cheats lady on the blurb, back when publishers didn't rack up the bill for selling solutions to problems they'd created. "Call me 24/7," says the cheats chick, "I've got what you need." Doubtful, as the freephone number is still in use but the ones in enlarged fonts are not. Now strategy guides on the other hand I used to frequently purchase, most no longer in my possession. I will however never part with my The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition one by Prima, however.

  7. I'd say GoldenEye on N64. Don't get me wrong I love and respect the hell out of this game, I played it religiously as a kid. I was actually something of GoldenEye ace back on in the day. It presented the first person shooter on a home console in a way that absolutely revolutionised the game for console based shooters. However in this day and age where we have been spoiled with twin sticks it's borderline unplayable now. The controls by modern standards are incredibly awkward. @DC I'd like to say that I appreciate that your posting topics. I know you've got a lot on your plate with running the website and dealing with advertiser's and such. So it's nice that you are taking the time to discuss gaming shit with us filthy peasants!

  8. The ProController for Atari Jaguar is by far the least and wired controllers they made I used. By adding number pad in the controller, it made Atari's Jaguar controller too big and to make matters worst, the number pad was hardly used for any game playing.

A game that has aged poorly

Psychonauts, it's one of the most creative, thoughtful, and funny games Ive ever played but it's certainly has its problems. For example, the game has some very bland and uninteresting combat, especially compared to the sequel. And the figment are poorly colored making them hard to see. And the progression system makes you grind which gets really tedious. Basically it had the early 2000s design which haven't aged well.

  13. I heard today is Atari's 50th birthday. It's been a long history of ups and downs, but lately mostly downs. Atari isn't what they used to be, sadly they haven't been the same company since they were producing games and consoles. I don't even know who owns the company anymore, as its changed ownership so many times over. The new company that owns the name, released a new console that has been mostly forgotten since release. Even though they are no longer the same company, there is still some cool history there. I just wish Atari would stick to making games and not worry about devices. The current Atari is not the Atari we know, and I don't think they will ever be. What are your favorite memories about Atari?

  14. I would have to give it a tie between the Game Cube and the Wii. The Game Cube was just uncomfortable as hell, and the buttons were in a completely fucked up location. The Wii was just worthless. I played it a bit for a while, but that whole controller scheme they came up with was sickening.

  15. 1985 Games had style, originality, and uniqueness. Developers were willing to take chances back then. Sure some games were flops, but a hell of a lot were massive hits. Nowadays, everything is a damn sequel. I can probably count on one hand the number of people here who remember waking up early on weekends to play SMB or Duck Hunt. And the kids who had more games than that, were rock stars. Everyone wanted to be their friend.

  18. One other way to cope with finishing a game you love, is to replay it. Either play it again right away, or wait a few years and revisit it. That's usually what I do with games I really love. I've replayed Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World a few times over. And I always come back to them years later to revisit them.

  19. I have two: People who flip flop their opinions from one polar opposite to the other in a short amount of time. The reason why this annoys me is because they usually make it a big deal and everyone should know whatever they’re talking about is trash. Then a week or two later they have to announce to everyone that it is now the greatest thing ever. It’s also not unusual for them to revert back to hating it. 1 make up your mind 2 stop being over dramatic about it My second one is when you recommend something to someone, and they aren’t interested, but if someone else recommends it, now they’re interested and sometimes become obsessed. It annoys me to no end when sometimes that person recommends it to you like you’ve never heard of it before.

  20. I think I'd say the newer COD games, mainly because they've become much of the same each year. The thing is, each COD game is competent and has the gameplay to keep it going, but the fact that these studios don't do much of anything new, makes the whole experience stale and mundane. It always has decent multiplayer, but lacks in single player for the majority of the series, at least the recent ones.

  21. I actually have. Been playing with my nephew and a friend as of late. Don't mess with Vader, he's a beast. Yeah it's been a while for sure. Happy to be back. 🙂 And yeah, I oftentimes forget to even play. There are nights where I want to play, and then I just change my mind and watch a movie or something.

  22. Honestly, only games I get stressed out to, are ones with really crap controls and ones where it's overly complicated. Oh and games where there are menus upon menus. Navigation can be a thing that stresses me out in game, because if I can't figure out what menu to go to, then it can be annoying learning that new system. It's why I never got into The Witcher, there was just too much going on.

  23. I remember getting some through the scholastic book fair back in the day. Sadly I don't think I still have any of them lying around. I also got rid of all of my gaming magazines, which usually had some cheat codes. I mostly got my cheats from the internet back then. I remember going to a friends and he'd print off cheats for me, good times.

  28. Yeah, and always keep an eye out for new platforms that might take off anyway. Because the the established platforms reach a point of saturation where you're a little fish swimming in an ocean. You can still get something going, but it's tougher to do, you have to work harder at it, and the $ isn't going to be as good as someone who got in early. On a newer platform, there'll be a smaller overall audience, but you're more likely more of a share of that audience. There's always risk involved, of course. The gamble on the newer platform might not pay off because if the developers aren't seeing the growth #s and $ they're expecting, the newer platform could go away. There are a lot of different ways to look at the hurdles to streaming. Take all the angles into consideration, and go with whatever works best for you.

    Cheat codes for video games

What once were cheat codes are usually microtransactions now, and it sucks. These were fun things to play around with and game developers could really have fun with them as well. I remember in these hospital this was the noise you heard when you put in a cheat code.

  31. Couldn't agree more. Goldeneye is without doubt a beloved classic, but it's probably aged about as badly as any game I know with the single analogue stick control and enemy AI that's as dumb as a felled tree. You needed look as far forward as a modern day Battlefield of Call of Duty to see how far the FPS has come since then even Perfect Dark on the same console feels way further ahead. Still, nostalgia is what it is and it hasn't stopped this from happening. This is a game showcased at the PC Gaming Show this year. I mean, I loved Goldeneye as a kid, but come on, guys! You didn't have copy everything right up to it's outdated looks, the AI and give all the guns the same beyond basic reload animation like Goldeneye had. I will admit I like the idea of the function that I assume you use to create your own multiplayer maps, that is cool.

  38. I'd say any Dark Souls game and I'd add Elden Ring since it was made by the same company, You have to be on your guard all the time and you can't underestimate anyone/anything as that seemingly harmless thing turns out to be what kills you. On top of that, in Dark Souls games, you can't really pause either so it is quite stressing....

  40. Just a video to complement OP's first post :)) I actually tried re-watching some of the older stuff, Voltron to be specific, and it's hard. The animation and stories are really simple and you would need to be a kid to enjoy it again.

  41. Nintendo does it all the time when they sucked the wii u dry of it's exclusives and nobody seemed to mind that and nintendo knows damn well they can get away with it because nintendo fans happily open their wallets and pay full price again. I personally don't mind it aslong it's priced accordingly and it has all the dlc incluced on the disc but even then i'll probably hold off until it goes on sale.

  42. Death threats are never acceptable, I'm not defending that kind of behaviour. With that being said CD Project did make one huge mistake that they have only themselves to blame for that resulted in all the chaos and pressure. They announced the (Initial) release date a full year ahead. In this day and age where games are more than complicated, expensive and difficult to produce than ever before that was a ridiculous decision. Even if we didn't take into COVID pandemic (which did no doubt affect production and was beyond their control) it's incompressible to think you predict the progress of production 12 months ahead. But of course you gotta get those pre-orders in and they completely took advantage of the good will they established with their earlier releases. If only they had waited to announce the release date until they were confident it was almost ready. They would have taken the time they needed, announced it a few months before release with my maybe one forgivable delay, two at most and that whole entire shitstorm would never have happened. I'm sure I've said it before but I'll it again. The issue is not delays, it's announcing to early. Thankfully I think most devs/publishers have now realized that and are way more cautious when it comes to release date announcements.

  44. If it includes all of the DLC released for the game on-disc, or is a complete remake of a game I liked from 2 or more generations ago, I'm generally ok with it.

  45. If it’s a port or HD remaster, I find it pretty shady. If it’s a full on remake, I’ll gladly pay full price.

  46. The discount (or freebie) would be nice for previous owners (which can be proven more easily with digital ownership than physical), and it's not like the companies doing these things can't afford to do it. I've no strong opinions on the subject really: it's only business. The good thing about these sorts of scheme is that if I want to play the original there's next to nothing stopping me, and the original must've been good enough for it to get a re-release in some fashion. If it was a bad game it wouldn't stand a snowflake's chance in Hell at being remastered. Even all the harumphing about The Elder Scrolls games is nothing compared to the sales figures before mods entered the equation. My point is that I can get the original used or heavily discounted elsewhere; Sony will make more from a single - and more expensive - copy of the remaster than they'll lose from a used copy.

    Bad Grammar

No i don't think their language is that bad, actually far from it but it's a common joke that people from holland think that belgians can't speak proper dutch that's why i call flamish a bastard version of dutch, well before someone else does it for me. I don't think learning a new language is that hard but most of the time you have to have a real interest in it and really want to learn the language,i know it's not always easy when you're an adult to make time for it on a daily basis. You know what really helps when there are people around you that speak the language you're learning as that is a massive help aswell, they can correct whenever you speak it badly or not correctly. Like i said if you want to learn spanish a big help is to play your games in english with spanish subtitles, once you've mastered it a bit, Start playing a game in spanish with english subtitles.
