Was actually going to post the same to stay ontopic but @Withywarlock beat me to it. This thread has run it's course i guess, unless somebody who is a parent with kids old enough to play videogames here wants to chim in and share their own experiences? I'd love to hear them if you are willing to post them as maybe we could learn a thing or two along the way.

Please stay on topic, folks. The question is "how old to start gaming?" I welcome new threads being made on other subjects, or them being taken to private messages, but we're not derailing this.

I've written 2 full length novels, several short stories, and a hell of a lot of unconventional poetry. That said, I can offer some advice. I assume you're writing fiction? The first sentence of every story is always the hardest. After that let the story write itself. Never force it. You have to have that itch to get back to writing it. But before you get too far you need to think about a few things. 1) Is it a narrative? 2) Are the characters relatable? 3) What kind of conflict will they be dealing with? 4) Is it told through eyes of a certain character? 5) Have you written a description of all the characters yet? 6) Do you know where you want to go with the story? Have you thought about the beginning, middle, and end separately so you know what you want to tell the reader? 7) Is it engaging enough to keep a person reading? 8.) Can you describe what your story is about to someone who asks? 9) Are you writing just as a hobby, or are you thinking about publishing? 10) Can YOU relate to your characters? For example in my first book, the main character was based off of me. We share a lot of the same attitude and view of the world. The only difference is that my character in that story is male, and I'm female. If you need more just ask and I'll help as much as I can. As a note to what @Withywarlock said, one of my books is currently on its 8th draft ans the other is on its 7th. More drafts will follow. Until it's perfect in my eyes, it will keep getting edits and rewrites. So don't get discouraged if you go to 7, 8, or 100 drafts. If you don't like it where it is, no one else will either.

What do you use a fitness tracker or a smart watch? Between these two gadgets, which one do you think is more useful? I have never used fitness tracker or smartwatch, but I am thinking one of these and I don't know which one will be better.

This means DRM style safeguards for your games. Honestly I don't see an issue with this when it comes to digital games. I also have no issue with it if it's to stop people from using fake game carts or stolen ones. I just hope this doesn't result in games becoming one time use. I don't think that would be the case. I think with this it makes sense for the Switch, because it's not like they are looking for people who sell their games. I think they genuinely want to stop people from illegally duplicating the game or finding ways of sharing it. It's one plot that they have done good justice to by adding cool twists and turns in it by making it have something unique in each release. If they were to lose a footing in the story, we would start seeing repetitive plots and that's going to be its tombstone.

Of course! All the Halloween movies never feel right without Jamie Lee. And the fact that Michael is "unkillable" (is that a word) haha well, we know there's always a chance the Halloween series can go on forever. 👍👍🔪

I'm not sure but seriously, I would love to see Jamie Lee make another appearance in the movie. It's going to turn up the heat in the plot development. What do you think?

I wish they would bring back Warhawk for the PS4/PS5. Such a good online only game that was tons of fun when having maps with 60+ people flying, driving tanks, or running around in.

All of these choices could be quite scary, though I picked the one that would be quite hard for me... I just picked #1, it sounds like the walking dead or something like outlast, oh well. But one thing's for sure, no matter which situation I might end up in, I'll do my darndest to survive! 🪓😅

Honestly, anti-piracy tends to make it more of a pain for legit customers than the pirates. Most DRM gets cracked very quickly, so it only deters it for like… 24 hours. I wish I could pirate software at work, and it’s not because I want to save my company money. It’s because it’s less of a pain. Enterprise licenses are jank af.

I don't know about the last part, but I wish the US stopped loot boxes. It heavily promotes gambling and I wish they would follow some of the other countries that try to ban them from games. I don't mind microtransactions, because you at least know what you're getting, but with loot boxes, you don't get that and in turn could be wasting money.

I believe it's part of cut content for the New Austin area, which I believe is inaccessible in the game. I believe it was originally planned, but they had to cut content and that's where they went.

Yeah I'd let my dad know first. But even so, having one my own wouldn't be bad either. I'm not that big into racing, but I gotta imagine it's a lot more fun to play via a racing wheel. And cool, if you ever make a racing setup, you should share your setup on the forum. 🙂

It'll probably go off voice prompts. So saying shoot to shoot your gun, reload to reload, run to run. General things like that. Saying turn left to turn left. It'll be used in combination with the controller I imagine for some. That would be my guess anyway. I imagine it works off of certain prompts and phrases.

Halloween: Resurrection was the very best I have watched in the Halloween series. The horror mechanics used in the movie was incredible. Another one is set to be released on by 14th October this year. In patiently waiting for it.

This looked like a fan made trailer of a game, with a random anime episode, with pointless stock footage. The inconsistency made it super confusing and cheap looking.

They're raising the price because things aren't working out as they planned. Sony is beginning to slip in the overall scheme of things because they're realizing they can't compete with Microsoft in the long run. This is a second bad but necessary move within the last month in a probable succession of moves we will see ongoing.

One of my other favorite gaming memories, was back playing my nieces and nephews in video games when they were too young to play. Instead of giving them a controller that is plugged in, I would play and make them think they were playing. It always works when they're young enough, but it's also fun when they realize you haven't been plugging it in and they start to catch on. Fun times. 😄

This is the first time I have ever used the steam database. I guess it's cool to have these details, especially it being open to everyone. But I don't see myself ever using this for anything. But I'm sure someone who likes to keep track of this stuff will find great use with it.

True, but I never found them super trustworthy because of how people have hacked leaderboards in the past. Every COD I played resulted in hacked leaderboards with people that I don't think belonged. And even these days I can see some games having hacked leaderboards. So in some way I think it would be a good idea to keep stats yourself just in case they have some graphical glitch that cuts out your total or something. With tech you never know.

I have seen quite a good number of them but for the most recent I watched. The wolf of wall Street (2012) which is about 3 hours long and the heist of the century (2020)-Spanish were all based on true events and really epic movies to watch.

Snorto Junior the 5th Here is a recent human piglet Snorto has found in the wild. He currently has tagged this hybrid to find out its habits. Sometimes they can look cute as piglets, but we shouldn't ignore the fact that some areas in Texas already has an invasive hybrid of human pigs. It's hard to distinguish which species they come from so we should always be on guard. This pig hybrid was captured on video molesting a calf and later ate its intestines. Wildlife and animal control was able to track it down and tranquilize it. It's currently awaiting bond at the local pig pound. In other news, Texas is the first state to elect a pig to control the state's finances. Some say that this official gets a bit greedy at times and some have even called for investigations into corruption.
